Since my life seems to revolve around blogging and writing, which means it also revolves around computers, I thought I would take a look at the computers of my past.
We have always been a Mac family. This started with my human sometime in ancient history, like around 1990. This iMac was the first computer I got to know. Here I am posing for the Infinite Cat Project. The photo was rejected because they did not think I was totally looking at the computer screen. But, ahem, I totally was!
Eventually, my human needed something lightweight she could travel with, so she got this iBook G4. She found it on eBay, and it already had loads of applications on it, including Photoshop! That worked quite well for her until she needed to upgrade. I liked this computer because it seemed like every time I looked, I saw myself!
Here I am in virtually the same position, scrutinizing my human’s work on the MacBook she got in 2008. Do you see the keyboard cover? Binga kept trying to sleep on it, and my human put it there to keep out cat fur. It did not work. We still have this computer, and I am sure it seriously needs to be cleaned!
This Acer netbook was one of the very few times my human has gotten a device that was not Mac-related. That’s because she wanted to use some software that was not available for Mac. But as soon as she did not need that software anymore, it fell into disuse. I liked it because it was just my size. And pink. You can see the way my blog used to look before I upgraded it.
And you probably recognize this photo from one of my August posts. My human and I have had this MacBook Pro since last year, when the old MacBook started acting wonky. This one has been to two BlogPaws conferences, two BlogHer conferences and so far, one Cat Writers Conference. Plus lots of other trips. It’s a very busy computer! And I have a new addition to our Mac family that I will be introducing to you soon!
OOooooh, iPad or iPhone?
I’m a Mac person, too, since my dad got one in 1987…
Wow, you are a real computer specialist ! Pookie likes the computer because Mr. G. has an acquarium as screen saver ! Unfortunately she never catched a fish so far.
We are using my dad’s work computer. It has a name we never even heard of! It’s supposed to be just fur working but, mom’s teachin it a thing or two. MOL! You haf been through lots of puters, Sparkle. Can’t wait to hear the latest! xoxo
! Sparkle!! Guess what??? Guess what came in the mail today!?!? Yes–your book! I made the Human read me a couple pages right away and we laffed and laffed. It is the Best Book Ever! And it is pawtographed to ME! I’m SPEECHLESS!
we feel like we are in the computer dark ages! We wish we could get an iPad or Mac Book but our mom is too cheap…maybe if we break the desk top…
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, and Hollie
Sparkle, you’re way more tech savvy than our mommy! She has to have a PC for work so we have a desktop and three laptops throughout the house and two lonely iPods to represent the Apple stuff. Pretty sad huh?
Sparkle
We hope you got an iPad.
We got ours for a Christmas present and LOVE IT!
Mom spends most of her time on it.
It is the first Apple product she has ever had and it is so wonderful.

My mama’s first computer was a Mac Classic. She has a PC now but likes Macs better. She is saving her green papers for one!
Cool! I’m a tech support kitty and I’m interested in what other cats are doing at their computers. I’m waiting for someone to create IT Kitty as a user choice like IT Person.
Wow, you sure go thru the puters. Your paws must pound on dem too hard Sparkle.
You got an iPad….(right?)
We have the little white MacBook. It seems to do the job, though a fancy dancy MacBook Pro would be a rather nice acquisition!
By the way, I’m having a small contest tomorrow if you want to drop by. The winner gets one of our greeting cards for free! 🙂
Wow! Youve had lots of puters! Our mom human person just got her very first laptop for christmas last year……. she hasnt been off it since! MOL
My human got to use one of the first Macs with Steve’s signature in the case if you opened it! And she had one of the Performa’s from Sears at one time and a Mac Classic. She’s also had an early Macbook and she had the first G4 with the DVR drive and now she has an i-mac, but it will probably be the last MAC as the male is so PC oriented (we use Boot-camp and are mostly on the PC side)… it is the end of an era for us as well as for MAC loosing Steve.
Oh and the Woman worked on old MACS at Reed College which got them REALLY cheap because Steve went there!
I like the pink one too 🙂
Loved those flashback computer pics Sparkle! I think we’ve had way too many to count, even since I’ve been here!
Sparkle, Mommy would love us to be Mac Kitties, but Daddy keeps her over on the Dark Side.
You are a lucky kitty. I am a PC goat
Wow – you are so talented technologically. We just sit on them and try to break them!
Yep… I’m with Simba… I bet you are getting a new ipad…. You can read your own books on one of those…. pretty cools…. Can’t wait to hear if I’m right.
pawhugs, Max
Our Mom luffs Macs too. She has an iMac.
Sparkle – you amaze us knowing so much about your mom’s computers – we only know that in the winter they are nice and warm to lay on!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
You are quite the technology kitty, Sparkle. Our mom wants an iPad…and so do we because we hear there are fun kitty games you can play on it.
We know Macs are far better than PCs, but our mom’s never had a Mac just the same. You’ve had a lot of computers over the years!
Boy, Sparkle…you sure have known a lot of computers! The only laptop my cats like is mine!
That is all so interesting seeing all your computers. I understand that the Mac is much better than a PC. Those pictures of you looking at the computer are purrfect Sparkle. Those people are nuts to say you weren’t looking at it. What did they think you were looking at. Take care and have a super Friday.
Oooh, I am guessing a new iPad? Love seeing you with alll your computers, Sparkle.
Sparkle,
We’re Mac people here, too. I wish Julie would get photoshop so I can do some imaginary travelling! I might even be able to sneak into the Vatican!
Have a good weekend!
Tom

Rumbledad got Rumblemum a Macbook Air while she was away on holiday. We try to sit on it to make it feel more like it belongs here, but she makes a loud noise when we go near it.
