We’ve been having bad photo issues here this week. It has been dark and rainy since last weekend, and nearly all photography has ground to a halt. My human has been complaining that there is “no light” to work with, and she hates using full flash because it is “ugly” (as if any photograph with me in it could ever be ugly!). Meanwhile, we cats have not been cooperating either — we have spent the cold days curled up and napping, or in my human’s words, “doing nothing worth photographing,” only coming to life circa 10 or 11 P.M. (What can I say? 11 P.M. is a great time to pull out Da Bird!) So for lack of photo opps, I have been forced to dig into the sparklecat.com archives and pull out a few selections from October 2005, featuring: the Evil Halloween Clown Collar!
You have no idea how much I hated that thing! I don’t know or care where it came from — it was one of the worst fashion ideas my human ever had. One by one she forced us cats to pose in it. She woke Binga from a pleasant nap by shoving it on her. She was not pleased.
But at least Binga did not have to get up. I was forced to perform with the dumb thing on. It was without a doubt one of the most humiliating moments of my life.
Surprisingly, the only cat who out-and-out revolted was Boodie. She did the right thing by trying to destroy this piece of awful Halloween trickery.
Hmmm. Maybe the inclement weather was not such a bad thing. Who knows what my human was planning?
Oh Bast! That thing is AWFUL, Sparkle! And I think your Human deserves a really bad bitey (a blood-drawing one) for that humiliating meerkat-type shot. Maybe TWO biteys. Hard ones.
We think Boodie had the right idea!
Costumes ! I will run away !!!!
You look beautiful no matter what you are wearing….
Oh, the shame!
Sparkle, that was just too awful to witness. We are going to pretend it *just* never happened…
oh look! a chicken!
Forcing you to purrform!! Well! The rudeness is just breathtaking.
I LOVE these pics! Happy almost Halloween!
Glogirly grumbles when there’s not enough light as well. I’m with you though, we are beautiful in ALL lights. : )
Happy early Halloween! Love the collar! I think I’d have some fun batting it around the townhouse.
xoxo,
Katie

Sparkle… as you say, you look beautiful in anything, but that little piece of decoration takes the cake. I’d have a hard time letting anyone put that on me. Hope your weekend is great and that the sun comes out for you.
pawhugs…Max
Good for Boodie – that is a silly thing!
OMC! A human with sense! Could you give some sense lessons to my human?
You and Binga do look very cute in that thing but Boodie had the right idea with it though.
We hope the halloween collar is history, we don’t like to dress up either! (as you know, since you saw Busby in the Hello Kitty head!)
We are having rain here on the central coast this weekend. We aren’t ready for rain!
Ah I hate it when the Halloween costumes come out. Fortunately the one that was purchased was sent on to Mao…
How can humans be so mean??!? We overheard our mom saying something about taking Halloween pictures of us this weekend. We’re sure wearing something will be involved…and we are dreading it!!!
Oh how awful! No wonder yoo felt rebellious!
Oh no, that just didn’t look like a whole lot of fun!
We feel your pain, having to endure that. And then relive the experience like this! Awful!
The collar is quite pretty so why didn’t your mum wear it instead of making you all do the modelling. Humans are so thoughtless.
Yes, that should be a rule: humans must put on the costume before putting it on the kitty, so they can see how it feels to wear it!
Look at you Sparkle, sitting up. We sure didn’t know you could do that. Well done. The collar does look pretty good on you. We sure hope our Mom didn’t get any Halloween duds for us. Take care and have a fantastic week end
I love the collar!! I think you all look very festive 🙂
They made you perform? That’s just wrong!!!!

Oh, I think the Halloween collar is adorable! Sorry you did not enjoy wearing it.
Daisy, I am just not fashion-forward like you. That said, I think my human could have done better than this collar.
Oh you poor girls……..you poor, poor girls!!
