Maybe you noticed that Cinco de Mayo was a few days ago. In fact, today is el ocho de Mayo, which doesn’t celebrate anything… except maybe “Dress up your cat in festive Mexican things” day. Why am I wearing this sombrero and a serape that’s clearly too small for me? Because my human bought them last month for a Cinco de Mayo photo shoot. Then things got too crazy last week with her iPhone dying and all. So she never got the shoot done… but she was determined I had to wear these anyway. I guess she didn’t want to waste her ocho dólares that she spent at Party City.
I think I like the sombrero best this way. It makes me look a little bit mysterious. There is not much I can do about the serape. I think it was originally supposed to go over a bottle of cerveza, before my human enlarged the hole to fit over my head.
I think the sombrero looks weird over just one ear in this shot. And the serape is crooked. If you are wondering about the props, the little ceramic figurines were on a shelf of knickknacks in our home office. And yes, they were hecho en Mexico. I think the donkey piñata also came from Party City.
Of course, I like it best when I don’t have to wear the hat at all!
And I like it least when an unwanted visitor shows up on the set.
