My human was doing something special for Thanksgiving! She said that a turkey would be too big for just two people, so she wanted something smaller. But it was just (if not more) fascinating!
She prepared a duck!
So of course, I had to put on my best duck face! But I was very good. I didn’t jump on the counter. Probably because my human did not leave the duck unattended. Not even for a split second.
It took three hours for it to cook in the oven! My human says turkeys take way longer, so I am lucky. I patiently (okay, not really patiently) waited in the dining room.
Finally, the duck was done cooking. It does look pretty impressive, doesn’t it?
As soon as the duck came out of the oven, I was right there, waiting for my share!
But then I was told it had to rest for 15 minutes! It’s just been lying there since it’s gotten here! That was totally unsatisfactory.
Finally, finally I got my tastes of duck!
The best part is I get to do it all over again, because we actually aren’t having Thanksgiving dinner until Friday because our company was working today.

Well, I am impressed that your human could cook a duck. I’m guessing you liked eating it. Hope your company enjoyed it too. At any rate, sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving.
Wow…..I have to admit a duck is DIFFERENT than turkey and my Dad does like duck but Mom isn’t a big fan. I don’t care what they eat as long as they remember THE CAT!

I’m not brave enough to try roasting a duck -I’m afraid I wouldn’t like it. I know my cats would like it though – it’s always a win in cat food or treats.

That duck looks fantastic! Now my mom wants to cook one too. I love the faces you were making, and how patient you were. I’m so glad you got to taste some! I got a little bit of turkey. I prefer chicken, though.

My goodness Summer. You surprised me wanting Some. My mom said she had it one time and did not care for it. Now she thinks it’s because she was too young to appreciate it and was thinking of ducks she saw on ponds.

*drooling* That looks good. My peeps just buy a 7-lb turkey breast which is tiny compared to the duck. It took 3 hours to cook also. Neither of my peeps like dark meat so it’s perfect. Pawsome that you get another Thanksgiving. We have the leftover turkey and stuffing on Sunday.
