Dream Teeth… I Mean, Treats

February 13, 2014 By: Sparkle Cat45 Comments

It's always exciting to get a package from Chewy.com!

A few days ago, Binga and I were thrilled to get a package from Chewy.com! I was expecting some new treats from them, so I knew this was going to be good.

I hope they do not try to sell these on their website!

Except it wasn’t! At least not to me — it was a bunch of Valentine’s Day candy for my human! She liked it, but I was a little put off.

I bet there is no candy in here!

But never fear — Chewy.com redeemed themselves a couple of days later when my Wysong Dream Treats arrived!

WAY better than chocolate

I got the rabbit flavor (with apologies to my bun friend Speedy). All the Dream Treats are true, non-thermal raw treats, which means they are not heated above 118 degrees. The meat is human grade and U.S. sourced — all the stuff that my human finds important. There are also ingredients in addition to the protein, including organic blueberry and barley grass powder, plus chia seeds, broccoli sprouts and more. That sounds like stuff my human eats, so I sort of ignored that part. These treats are meant for cats, dogs and ferrets. My human thought the protein to carb ratio was probably better balanced for dogs than cats, but she figured that since it was meant as a treat, it was okay for us.

It's sort of like a meat lick!

I hope that does not mean I have to share this with the dog here — or any random ferrets! ’Cause this is really good stuff. The treats come in big discs that are supposed to be broken up for us kitties, but I couldn’t wait! I wanted a taste right away.

Don't laugh at my face!

My human did manage to wrestle the disc away from me and break it up into pieces I could actually eat. They were tasty!

She is going in for the kill

After I had a few chunks, my human let Binga come up to try some. Here is some advice for you: if Binga ever looks at you like this, beware!

I hope you didn't care about that thumb

She got so frenzied over the treats that she also chomped my human’s thumb and drew blood! Although the bleeding stopped (after a while) and the pain went away, my human does not take cat bites lightly (plus she was handling raw meat, even if it was freeze dried), so she stopped by urgent care to get it taken care of. They soaked it in some weird looking gunk, gave her a tetanus shot and some meds and told her to come back if it got any worse. But it’s already better today.

Bottom line: all of us loved these Wysong Dream Treats (yes Boodie got some too)! And Binga even gave them thumb’s up!

*snort* Thumbs up?!? That’s a good one! Hey Binga, what was up with that? Felt the need for a little extra protein in your treat or something? We’re glad your human isn’t going to have to give up her (very useful) opposable thumb over this Incident. And that’s she’s on the mend!

Mom got the same package with chocolates and stuff. I was so excited when she brought in the package from Chewy! Then she opened. I was so bummed.

We didn’t opt to try the treats this month. They sound nommy. Maybe we should have signed up for them. I wonder if it’s too late?

We got the same treats to try here and we were shocked at how big they were! We sent some to our ferret cousins since it said the treats were for ferrets too and we can’t wait to see what their reaction is. The package arrived at their post office but unfortunately, so did 16 inches of snow. Maybe they will get them tomorrow for Valentine’s day.

Well, it is easy to see those treats were a hit!
Our Angel Tiger was like Binga.
When Mom was at the Vet with her once,
she offered Tiger a treat and she bit Mom’s finger too. 😮
It drew blood and Mom was the one getting treated! Hahahahaha!!

We think the expression on your face is cute, Sparkle! As for Binga, BEWARE! Sorry your human had to get a shot. Cat bites can be so serious and our human called her doctor at 1:30 AM when she was bitten and yelled “I need antibiotics and I need them NOW!” (She had to bathe her first Somali when he got into the cooking oil used for fondue–her brother forgot to put it away–and kitty got himself covered in it. He was a very sweet kitty but became very frustrated when he could not groom himself clean and he just freaked. Mom forgave him because she knew how much he adored her–he always looked at her with love in his eyes…she misses him soooo much even though she has the two of us). I bet that the blood topping made those treats particularly tasty. Leave it to Binga huh? Glad your human hasn’t had to like go to the hospital or anything. I don’t bite my human. I’m quite worried she would give me some horrible disease or something. I’m a very picky eater.

Nom, nom, nom! Tasty treats are tasty! We are glad you girls like them! Binga, two of us have bit our meowmie, which sent her to the emergency room once (it was too late for immediate care) and to the immediate care center once. We forget how delicate our humans can be! Oh, and Binga, our meowmie bought the pretty cards that have your picture on it and a rose. She used them as her Valentine cards! Her friends said you are beautiful!

But don’t worry, Binga. We know you didn’t mean it. I mean, when treats like those are involved, kitties are not responsible for their actions. She shouldn’t have stuck her finger in your mouth in the first place.

Thumbs up…MOL! That’s probably what your mom had to do to stop the bleeding. That disc is really huge looking more like a hockey puck than a treat. We’d probably grab it and take off never to be seen until we had gnarled our way through it. Sparkle, you looked pretty cute licking it. Thanks for the review. PS. I’m so embarrassed. I saw that picture of those peep treats and thought they were cards. Hmmm… treats are probably better than cards but… well… better for the peeps. So often we cat treats aren’t allowed of ones suitable for the peeps. What’s up with that? MOUSES!

Ummmm.. “Teeth Up” you mean, right?! Those treats look intriguing. Unlikely they will ever make their way here, though. The treat situation in France is really bad, although improved since they started selling Party Mix. #1 has to either order or bring back most of our treats from England as we all really love freeze-dried chicken treats!
