Actually, it was my human who won a contest! And the prize arrived on our doorstep while she was running around at Cinecon.
One of the human bloggers she knows, Tracy from Crazy Suburban Mom, had a contest and the prize was a “huge, fancy deluxe” (my human’s words) Cuisinart food processor. So she entered… and she won! It was a miracle. She rarely enters contests, and she wins them even less (which makes sense if you do the math). Binga could not wait for her to open the box.
My human was right… it is huge and fancy. I guess it’s deluxe too, although I don’t know much about food processors. Food processors aren’t Cat Things.
Apparently my human agrees about food processors not being Cat Things because I didn’t get to see a whole bunch of the fancy stuff, mainly the blades. She said they were dangerous and hid them from us cats immediately. I was thinking that maybe she might use this machine for something useful, like making homemade cat food, but the very first recipe she started looking at was for eggplant parmesan (the ingredients can be made completely via this food processor). Ick! Humans and their weird food preferences.
But just when I thought this food processor was the boringest human prize ever, I realized that I did get a prize out of the deal too! A huge, fancy deluxe box! It rules! Thanks Tracy — you rock!
Humans are kind of silly about their things aren’t there? Tommy the food processor and says we need one. I wonder why–I’m not sure what food she processes. However the BOX—–woo HOO! Pass that treasure chest on over HERE!

Holy mackeral! Just think of all the cat foods/treats she can whip up for you now!
I did see this yesterday and meant to come back and somehow the day got away from me! Sorry about that! Im so glad you got it – and the box – PERFECT!! I’m so glad its going to make a nice place to hang out, hide sleep – sharpen your claws… Hm, assuming the claw thing.
And it does LOOK like a nice processor and am hoping that its a nice replacement for the one mom had around? The little one? Now she can make nice big amounts of food instead of teeny amounts.
Congrats on the win. That was the best giveaway ever 🙂 Ginger said so 🙂
Tracy
guess it is nice your human wons a prize. after all she has to spend so much time making you pretty and happy, I s’pose a treat fer her is warranted. it is a shiney machine… but not nearly as beautiful as Sparkle! you do not look to happy when she is telling youz that she is making eggs plants?? I’d stay away from the sharpe things too, even if you have sharpe teefs & nails you don’t want to mess them up. Just don’t let her get a wild hair about mincing up any meeces in that machine mmmK, Sparkle, buddy, pal???
That’s a cool box you and Binga won! Boodie must not have been too excited about it since she didn’t come see it. As for the food processor, our mommy thinks it’s pretty cool too but we think you got the better prize.
Angel & Isabella
While I was very jealous that your mommeh won, I was glad it was her! I mean, I couldn’t pick anyone better to win–other than me. 🙂 I love that Tracy too–she’s so much fun. 🙂
Speaking of fun–LOVE that new box! Did your mommeh cut some holes in it for you???
Congrats to your Mom!! We were going to say that the best part of ANY prize is the box, but you addressed that at the end of the post!! MOL! Hope you had fun with it!!
Have a great day!!
~Nico, Simon & JayJay 🙂
Thanks for all the Photoshop hints! Your human sounds very accomplished with it. My Mom just has Elements, and is a total novice. But she is interested in the hints for eyes that you gave.
do not despairs, Sparkle dear! food processors can indeeds be Cat Things. just give your mommeh this recipe, she will has to use the processor to do the turkeys in, and voila, it is now a Cat Thing!
Homemade Catnip and Turkey Treats:
Ingredients:
* 1/3 cup Bisquick
* 1 large egg
* 1 egg yolk, beaten
* 1 to 2 tablespoons water
* 1 tablespoon
wheat germ
* ½ cup dried catnip
* ½ cup dried catnip, saved (for you to roll dough in afterwards)
* 2/3 cup ground turkey, cooked
Directions
1. Pre-heat your oven to 350°, and grease a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.
2. Place your cooked turkey meat in a food processor or blender, and blend until it becomes a thick paste.
3. In a large mixing bowl, mix the turkey, wheat germ, ½ cup dried catnip, whole egg, Bisquick and your water.
4. Now take the turkey mixture, and using a tablespoon of the meat mixture at a time, roll it into a ball. Flatten your ball out a bit and roll it in the rest of the dried catnip that you set aside before.
5. Place the dough balls onto your cookie sheet, and bake them only until they turn golden brown. Baking time for your treats should be about 5 – 8 minutes (remember oven times may vary due to altitude and the weather outside). Please do not overcook this treat, because then your cat may not want to eat it. They usually like treats soft, but not too crunchy.
6. Take treats out of the oven and let them cool well; several hours is best. Then you can store you new treats in an airtight container for 5 days in the refrigerator or up to 1 month in your freezer.
Thanks for the recipe, Attie! You rule!
