Here I am, inspecting the box of Dear Sparkle
bookmarks that my human is shipping off to go into goodie bags for the Tribal Blogs Conference in June.
But there is something wrong here! There are 20 fewer bookmarks than the conference humans asked for! My human is sending less because — get this — the postage is cheaper if she uses this small flat rate Priority box and she could not quite fit all of them in there.
Is she saying I am not worth the extra three or four dollars postage? How cheap!
Now, I wouldn’t read anything PURRsonal into this, Sparkle! Do you know how expensive it is to mail things lately? Just think what your Mom can buy for you with the money she has saved!
Sounds like your human needs some retraining too. Maybe she spent the $$ she saved on more food for you.

The mail service is very expensive ! I wished we could send each other gifts per email !!

Hoomins are very strange, aren’t they? But they do have some good points. So we have to forgive them their oddnesses.
When we got a Secret Paw who lived overseas, my Mommeh found out how much monies it cost to send stuff, and guess what? She got a box of that exact size and CRAMMED everything in that. It was all bulgy, and the soft toys were flattened, but she saved a few green papers!

Twenty people are going to be mighty disappointed to not get your bookmark so maybe she’ll send them another way. She’s certainly not cutting corners when it comes to you Sparkle. That’d be unthinkable!
Maybe she is just going to send the last 20 in a regular envelope or something – economical and yet not disapointing the conference folks either. And then that means more money for treats and toys!
That’s okay, your human can just bring the other 20 with her when she comes to the conference.
Sparkle, tell you human how amazing she is for sponsoring the conference and contributing these awesome bookmarks. You have a great human!

It just means your mom is very careful in planning how her hard-earned money is spent. Sounds pretty smart to me.

Poor Sparkle. A kitty is always worth the extra $$$. Although my marms doesn’t always agree. She has stopped buying me toys because she says I have too many and they’re a waste of money. YEAH RIGHT.
We think our Mom would probably do the same, Sparkle. Hopefully you’ll benefit from the savings!
If she uses the money she saves for you, Sparkle, then we’re okay with it…but somehow we don’t think that’s the case.
