On National Feral Cat Day, there were two awesome events going on in downtown Los Angeles, just a block from each other — and my human went to both! Pussy and Pooch, a very cool pet boutique, groomers and “paw bar,” held an event to benefit FixNation, which does great work helping homeless cats all over Los Angeles. There was vegan food (for humans, of course), drinks, and the store donated 10% of their sales to Fixnation. The star of the event was Jackson Galaxy! He performed some songs and my human said he was really good. In case you were wondering, that is him singing the theme song to My Cat From Hell, but it is not really a song, just a snippet and no, he did not sing it at the event! He did autograph copies of his book, Cat Daddy. (And my book is available at Pussy and Pooch too!)
I know this is a tease, but I could not resist showing you a photo of the wall of cat toys at Pussy and Pooch! It is a wonderful sight to behold.
Right around the corner from Pussy and Pooch, Kitty Bungalow, a fun rescue that does TNR and adoption, celebrated National Feral Cat Day with an art opening, featuring stunning photos of feral cats. There were also kittens in the storefront!
I heard that they played all night and never slowed down!
I was very lucky my human came home empty handed!
That is, empty handed, except for the stuff she brought home from Pussy and Pooch!
I’m afraid I can’t show you what is in the big bag — most of it is stuff that is possibly for Secret Paws and maybe future giveaways.
That is, if my human can keep Binga away from it!
I can show you the food my human brought home. Pussy and Pooch has a lot of brands that aren’t at the chain stores near our house, so my human usually picks up a few cans of our favorites there.
And I can show you what was in the small bag! It’s a goodie bag that the Pussy and Pooch humans handed out to everyone who attended their event!
It’s all sort of great items — a human-grade dehydrated cat food sample, Nature’s Variety Instinct canned and dry food samples, Tiki Sardine cutlets, Spirit Essences Stress Stopper, a toy and coupons from a couple of local merchants! I have already eaten some of the Instinct RawBoost and it is tasty!
And guess what? My human’s boyfriend went along, so they got two bags and we are giving away one (except for the local coupons, unless the winner is in Los Angeles)! This is my way of thanking you for being part of my commenthon on Tuesday. Your comments added up to a $35 donation to Alley Cat Allies… and then Spitty’s human matched it and donated $35 too! That was so awesome of her!
Because of shipping costs, my human can only send this goodie bag to the contiguous 48 states, but if you do not live in the U.S., you can enter and name someone in the U.S. to give it to! This giveaway was just a quick, last-minute decision on my human’s part, so all you need to do is leave a comment below — and say that you did on the Rafflecopter widget below. (If you are viewing this blog post on another website or by email and can’t see the Rafflecopter widget, click here to go to the original blog post to comment and enter!) If you are on Facebook, you can get an extra entry by “liking” my Facebook page! The giveaway closes at midnight, Eastern Time on Sunday, October 21. Good luck!
