I thought today would be a good day to look back and see what Sparkle was doing this month, in 2005. She was almost the same age as me — it was right before her third birthday, and I just turned three in March of this year. There are only a small handful of you who were reading the blog back then. You will remember these photos. For the rest of you, they’ll be new.
The humans, and Sparkle, Binga and Boodie were living at a different house. It is only three blocks from where we live now, but it was way different! In fact, my human hated the house. She had buyer’s remorse from the moment they moved in, and they wound up living there for five years. They moved to where we live now in September, 2006.
Here is a photo of Sparkle’s classic annoyed expression. My human was always doing something that got those ears of doom. Maybe Sparkle had buyer’s remorse after she came home with my human!
Sparkle wasn’t always mad at my human, though! She liked to play a lot (so do I!), and my human had toys that she found satisfactory. We still have some of them, but I don’t think we have this mouse, which eventually got separated from the ribbon.
You may notice that Sparkle’s eyes are yellowish in these photos. Her eyes were actually a really stunning green… but they did not develop until she was well over three years old!
The toy was actually a birthday gift to Boodie. Nobody knows when Boodie’s birthday is, but she was born in May, as close as my human can figure (she was nine months old when my human brought her home). Even though Boodie doesn’t haven an official birthday, my human has thrown a party for her a couple of times. The last one was in 2010. Binga got to wear a birthday hat. She was not thrilled about that. Sparkle didn’t have to because her head was too small for it.
Even Boodie had to wear the hat, which almost never happens! She really earned that toy!
