While clearing out some things in her office, my human came across this old painting. There is quite a story behind it! It was created by Sparkle and Boodie in May 2012 — almost 9 years ago!
The kit was called the Kitty Casso Paint Kit for Cats. That is not me looking at the box. It’s Sparkle. The box is long gone. In fact, the company doesn’t even make these anymore.
It’s too bad this kit is no longer available, because the concept is pretty cool. The human would squeeze some paint on the enclosed canvas, put the clear plastic over it, and encourage the cats to “paint” with the use of the toy, also enclosed. So the cats didn’t even have to get their paws dirty.
This is how the process went here. Both Sparkle and Boodie worked on it.
Binga apparently didn’t have much of an artistic spirit because her contribution was mainly to get in the way. In fact, my human spent so much time removing her from the painting that she got annoyed and left.
Boodie actually wound up being the one who put in the most effort. At some point during the process, my human brought out a toy she already had because both Boodie and Sparkle liked it more.
The finished product was mostly Boodie’s work. You can tell she is proud of it.
However, that did not stop Sparkle from putting her own paw print signature on it and taking credit.
In the original blog post, she claims that Boodie forgot to sign it. I still don’t think that is quite right!
There was actually a giveaway for a kit, but my human never heard back from the person who won it after they got it. It is probably a little late to go back and ask about it now!
I hope you enjoyed this special Caturday art edition!

It’s always nice to see the kitties who have transitioned to kitty paradise. We have an event in my rescue called painted paws. The dogs and cats create the artwork and the humans embellish a bit. A very fun project
What a fun flashback! So nice seeing Sparkle and Boodie and Binga too. So nice you still have the painting
What a lovely story and a beautiful memory. Boodie and Sparkle certainly did enjoy it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
What a great painting with a beautiful story. I hope your human finds a special place to display it.
I love the painting, the story and am also sorry the kit is not made any more. I would love to do one with my two cats. Unfortunately, that often happens when there is a good or cool project out there. Thanks for sharing this story, Summer.
Our human was really excited to see Binga, Boodie and Sparkle! And a terrific post! Thanks for sharing it with us Summer! It was great to see our human go down memory lane! Thank you! And Thank You for visiting us and we hope you two have a marvellously happy day!
That’s so cool, and such a special souvenir! Too bad the company isn’t still making them.
Whoa! I wish TW would have won it cos I’m very artistic and would have had fun. That needs to be hanging someplace. Poor Boodie, the tortured artist.
What a cool memory – it is nice to see Boodie so into something ! She is usually a quiet bystander.
What a fun memory!
The Florida Furkids
That’s a cool idea!
Thanks for joining us on our hop today x
Interesting. Something for the “artist” kitty which
apparently Binga was not. Boodie was the quiet
kitty but but also the most artistic.
We always love seeing Sparkle, Binga and Boodie, so this was a really fun flashback for us, Summer. We have a Kitty Casso painting that Gracie and Zoe did. 🙂
Very cool work of art. They did a great job. That was a sweet flashback.

How cute is that!!! A fun idea.
That really was fun to see! I think we won one from someone but we never saw it.
I love seeing Boodie. And certainly Sparkle and Binga.
That was fun idea! Boodie certainly enjoyed it with help from Sparkle.
