My human saw this cute Steampunk bowler on another internet cat. And since she is a huge steampunk fan, she had to get it for me.
Here’s a closer look at it. The only problem with it is my head is smaller than the other cat’s. So I am having a harder time making this tiny hat work on my tinier head.
This, unfortunately, is the most comfortable placement… right where it can’t be seen.
And while some hats look good perched over one ear, this bowler definitely doesn’t work.
The only way it works is between my ears like this, but the brim is just a hair too wide and flattens out my ears.
Even with a head tilt, I look slightly annoyed. I actually was purring during the photo session, but having my ears flat like this gives me a perpetually peeved appearance.
It really is a cute hat, though, and it was rather expensive. My human is hoping to find a way to make it work.
The first thing she is going to try is switching out this single chin strap for a double that fits around my ears instead of in front or behind them. Sometimes that makes hats work better. She is hoping she doesn’t have to try to cut into the brim to make my ears fit better. It would only take a couple of millimeters to give me enough ear room, but she is worried she’ll ruin it.
What do you guys think? Do you have any other suggestions?
