The children’s hospital was really busy when we showed up! There were lots of kids in the lobby, and most of them loved kitties. Even the one mom who was allergic to cats let her teenager visit with me — she just kept a safe distance.
The exam rooms were also full, of course, and I visited as many as I could. One room had a family with three kids. I didn’t notice which one was the patient, but two of them loved me, and the youngest was a little nervous. Curious, but kind of scared. But by the time my human pulled out the instamatic camera for a family photo of the three of them with me, he had warmed up enough to stand right behind me on the couch.
Another fun patient was a baby with a deformed foot. She was so overjoyed to see me! Her sister petted me a little, but the baby was way into visiting me. With her mom’s help, she was even able to gently pet me. She was actually a very gentle kid already. She will be an awesome animal lover when she gets older.
I visited some more kids in the lobby on the way out, including a cute girl in a wheelchair who was sitting at the crafts table. But we wound up ending the visit about 8 minutes early. My human sensed I was tired and could tell I wanted to go home. This is why when you see a pet therapy team, the human handler is almost always the pet’s owner. They know us the best and are tuned into our wants and needs. It’s their job to honor us when we need to rest so we can keep looking forward to future visits.
Other than that, it was a really nice visit.

Thanks for being there for those children who now have some happy memories. Thanks for all your hard work, and its good that your Human knew you needed a good rest.
I’m so glad you had a great visit at the hospital. You bring joy to people in a difficult situation.
It’s sad so many children are not well. You did a great job. We all need to get rest when we’re tired. Your human did the right thing protecting you.
That sounds like another amazing and wonderful visit, Summer. Thank you.
I understand why you can’t, but I wish it was possible for you to film a visit. It would be so amazing to see.
That is sweet of your human to take photos with the instamatic for families. And wise of her to know when you are ready to go home. 🙂
Thank you for the visit Summer
Another good visit to the children. You probably had a nice
rest after you got home. Thank you for the visit.
Wonderful of you to go to the children’s hospital and visit with the children Summer.
Glad you got to visit with so many of the kids. But it’s kinda sad that there were so many sick kids there.
It is very nice of you to visit the sick children. I feel bad that there are so many. Actually, I feel bad that there are any sick children.
Another good visit for you, Summer.
Sounds like you had a good visit at the hospital and that your presence was appreciated!
I bet you being there helped the kids feel a bit more calm.
Sounds like you earned your treats today!
