Brush Clearance Before and After – Cat Quality Control

May 11, 2023 By: Summer Samba10 Comments

The brush clearance workers were in Summer's backyard, and she goes out to inspect the before and after results.

Do you remember how messy and full of weeds the backyard was this year? My human got the brush clearance guys out, and it was so bad it cost more than twice as much as last year! Anyhow, they got rid of it all and it’s time for cat quality control.

Let me show you before and after photos.

Somali cat with a bunch of weeds behind her

This is what it looked like. Everything behind me is 100 percent weeds. It was really out of control!

The weeds are totally gone!

Now let’s look at the hill behind me.

It was literally a wall of just…weeds.

Now it’s completely bare. Admittedly, none of this is very pretty, but it would have been an awful fire danger if we left them. As you can see, there are a few patches of flowering bushes, and maybe my human should bring more of those to the hill. But there hasn’t been time to think about that. She is just relieved that the fire department won’t fine her!

So it may not look very nice, but at least we have done our part for fire season!

That was a lot to clear, but now the fire hazard has gone you and your human can relax.

It is hard work to clear all that away. Glad that someone could come in and do it for you – even if it costs $$. And as you say, much better to be safe with fire season getting close. I hope that you will be safe.

Here in my area, we’ve had several large wildfires already. Always a scary thing.

No wonder it cost so much….that was a lot of work.
I notice your fur looks much more red out in the
sun today. Much more than inside the house. Nice.

Our mutual friend Glogirly who lives in Colorado also has to maintain brush clearance, for fears of wildfires.
I hope your friends, the outside cats, weren’t too discomposed by the activity, Summer.

WOW! That was a lot of clearing!
Maybe a rock garden could go there or catnip 😉
Purrs you do not get any fires close to you!
