Bee for Me?

March 5, 2010 By: Sparkle Cat12 Comments

You’ll never believe what I found! Well, okay, Boodie saw it first but I immediately claimed it as mine.

I get first dibs on everything here.

Could you see it? No? I guess I’ll have to help you out.

Isn't this the coolest thing ever?

And in case you still can’t tell what it is, here’s the ECU (that’s filmspeak for “Extreme Close Up.” You learn these things when you live near Hollywood!).

I wonder if it tastes like honey?

I wasn’t sure if I should play with it or just eat it right away, but my human put her foot down and said I couldn’t have it. She thought it was sick, or might sting me, so she brushed it outside. And guess who immediately came up to check it out?

Ignore the bee by the door!

I was bummed. It’s hard to have dibs on an outside bee.

Curses! No bee for me!

Oh Sparkle! That’s not fair! No bee for you, but it’s ok for the woofie? We get indoor flies and spiders, but so far, no bees. Did you say you’re allowed to sit ON the table while beans are eating? Victor says he tried that long ago but Mom put her foot down and shoved him off the table. He’d never seen food prepared that wasn’t for him, you see!
Oh, I hope you get to claim another bug soon!

Sparkle, I’m soooo glad you didn’t eat it. Awhile back Sumari got really sick with her airway all swollen, we think she ate a bee or something stingy. We were terrified for about 4 days and it was awful, but she pulled through. But just last summer Taco got stung on the face by a yellowjacket and he was just fine after a few minutes. So ya can’t actually eat them!

My human once stepped on a bee because she didn’t see it. She had bare feet and the bee was already dead, hence the immobile little thing on the floor. I seems from her reaction the stinger doesn’t die too. Good you were not allowed to eat it!

Dang! Oh well, it’s probably best. Maybe the dog got stung on the nose or something. You can’t mess with those bees. My cat, Henry, used to swat bees all the time and ended up with swollen paws from bee stings–it was very ouchie!! Good thing your mommeh saved you.

Our bees are always outside where our sisfur Sadie tries to bite at them. That freaks our mommy out which is kinda funny.

We get bees around here too…mostly when the weather is warmer…and our mom won’t let us play with them either. Moms are no fun, are they??

Oh Gosh , glad it didn’t sting you. That was a huge bee. Mom was smart to get rid of it. We like to chase bees too and it drives our Mom nuts. Have a great week end.
