Bedroom Redo, With Cat Supervision

Summer's human has a bedroom redo... with cat supervision, of course!

My human has lived in this house since 2006 and only now did she figure out what she wanted to do with the bedroom!

It had this sponge paint pattern on the upper half that abruptly ended, along with the wallpaper border, in the middle of a wall. That’s because the bed belonging to the previous owner had a huge headboard. And instead of moving it, he just painted around it.

My human actually liked the paint and edging, as outdated as it was. But she could never figure out how to recreate the sponge pattern to fill the wall, and there wasn’t anymore border wallpaper. Finally, she found an interior designer guy on YouTube who had some wall ideas that inspired her. So she called back the painters she had used on a couple of other projects, and they got to work.

The most important part was actually the primer because there was a lot to cover up! And they also added something new. If you look closely, you can see a chair railing along the wall.

Next up was the paint. My human picked out this shade of deep plum very carefully. The upper wall was a light off white.

They also added wall molding to three sides of the bedroom. The one wall left over got something different.

Here is why my human was so particular about the plum color. It needed to go with the wallpaper that covered the wall behind the bed.

You can see everything that was done behind me. Oh, and the bathroom also got a fresh new coat of paint.

It’s like a whole new bedroom! If you don’t count all the old furniture.

    TBT says our heated waterbed is about 45 years old. He and we love it. We mean, like, “heated”. How can anything be more perfect? Well, laying on TBT at night of course, but other than that…

    Hi Summer! (Marv waves wildly) Wow! WoW!! WOW!!! What a marvellous change! Your Peep has terrific taste (or were they YOUR choices?) AND, your Peep is lucky to have you as a snoopervisor! I bet if you were here snoopervising all our renos would be done! Kozmo and me have been outside decimating the mole, vole and mouse population while our Peep paints and our human Bro pounds in the new floor.
    We apologize that we have not been commenting, our Peep can no longer comment on the iPad and we look at most of our furrends posts when we are in bed. This morning we are waiting for it to get warmer so we can re weatherstrip the front door so we are using the laptop. Keep being awesome! Purrs Marv (and Barb)

    TW’s old BF used to do sponge painting and murals on walls. He did nice work. TW is sad she never photographed any of the rooms he did but good riddance to him. HAH! Your redesign came nice.

    It’s a good thing you were there to supervise. The workmen might
    have made a mistake without you. Looks very pretty. And, yes, it
    does go well with your fur.
