It was a crazy week around here! My litter box got moved to the dining room. Oh yeah, and all the bathroom cabinets and shelves got a redo. So the rest of the bathroom was also pretty much all over the dining room too. This is about halfway through the job, when the painters put primer on everything.
If you want to see how it originally looked, here’s a photo from before my human even moved in. It’s from the 2006 listing, when the house was up for sale. That wasn’t natural wood stain. It was a faux wood paint job that really wasn’t done very well. Over the years, the paint curled and chipped badly. Finally my human wanted to redo it, and make it over into something that was more her style.
Initially my human thought she could do it herself. Then she realized that she didn’t have the time, patience, or ability to do it right. (I could have told her that!) Once the professional painters came in, everything had to be sanded down.
There was actually a lot to do!
Next came all the primer. My human also took all the old drawer pulls away, since she found new ones that she loved.
Then the new paint went on. As you can see, my human was going for a completely different feel.
The next day they finished up and put on the drawer pulls. Except my human had to go back and put them on the right drawers, since they got them wrong. Even though she put the ones she wanted in the proper drawers.
Can you see the new hardware? And there are several different cats! So my human had to make sure they matched properly.
Best of all, my litter box went back where it belonged!
