I got this in the mail the other day. It’s the Somali Breed Awards for the 2017-2018 season. No, I didn’t win anything. As you know, I don’t compete anymore. But I have a relative in here, and I’m very proud of him!
My nephew Louie was third best Somali in Premiership in the Cat Fanciers Association! In the world! I sponsored his award this year, and if you can’t read what I wrote to him, here you go: “Congratulations to Crazy Louie from his aunt Summer of sparklecat.com — you are an awesome boy and my human and I love you!”
Of course, lots of judges also loved him!
Honestly, how could anyone not love him? Louie also did very well in TICA — The International Cat Association — he was the 2018 Best Somali Alter of the year in the Mid Pacific region, where he lives! Also second best Somali Alter of the year Internationally in TICA. Plus a handful of other awards as a kitten. He really did amazingly last season!
I had other relatives who did well too! Remember my baby half-sister Gypsy? She was the Best Somali Kitten of the year in TICA! And my half-brother Decker, who my human worked with a bit? He was TICA’s 3rd best Somali Kitten! In case you are wondering who was second, it was Louie! I am really proud of them all!
But of course, they would do well. I did when I was competing! This is the 2014-2015 Somali Breed Awards from CFA. And I’m in it!
I was 4th Best Somali in Premiership that year! In case you are wondering, my pal BJ’s human sponsored my award. It reads, “Congratulations on a great season with Summer. It has been a true joy to see this beautifully present and well behaved ambassador for the Somali Breed!” (Italics mine.) In case you are wondering about BJ, he was 5th best Somali in Premiership for the 2017-2018 season.
Do I miss competing? Actually… not at all!
