I have a very cool giveaway for you today! That is, if I can get these interlopers out of the way.
Well! Apparently this giveaway needs teamwork. According to Binga. Like I have a choice. At least you can see the book now.
So let me tell you about Shop Cats of New York! It has 36 profiles of New York cats that live and work in various shops. I can totally relate to these kitties since I’m also a working cat. Don’t worry — these cats aren’t neglected semi-feral mousers. They are beloved family and well cared for by the people at the stores, studios and offices where they live. They enhance their places of employment with their good looks and personality!
The author is a friend of my human’s (and longtime New York resident), Tamar Arslanian. You may know Tamar’s blog, I Have Cat. She teamed up with amazing photographer Andrew Marttila for this coffee table style book. My human was impressed with everything, from the elegant layouts and glossy paper stock to the stunning photos and each and every one of the cats’ stories.
Ivy lives at a pharmacy in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and from the profile, I get the impression that she’s the boss there.
And this is — aw geez! Everybody wants to get into the shot.
Anyhow, you will love this book! You can see more, and get it at Amazon… or you can enter my giveaway! The publisher generously said I could give five copies away to U.S. readers! Just comment on my blog post, then say you did on the Rafflecopter widget below! You will have more ways to gain entries once you do that.
Good luck! I think I need some luck too.
Disclosure: Link to Amazon is an affiliate link, which means I get a small commission if you buy the book after clicking. I was given a complimentary copy of the book for review, but it did not affect my opinion.
My name is Zippy and I am the lone Aby in my home. I want to see what else is in the world.

LL loves places that have shop cats! We have one near where we live, she wrote a story about him back earlier in the year. That’s neat that there is a book about the ones in New York, we would like to see that.
I would love to win this book.
Love the pictures and the write up – the book looks awesome!
Great looking book, and I like your extra models, even if they are a little annoying to you =-) They just admire you and want to be like you, Summer – kind of like kid sisters.
Would love to win a copy of this book!
What a cool book! I love it when businesses hire cats. Kitties do a great job of keeping rodents under control and add a lot of cuteness. 🙂
This book looks so fun! I’d love to win it
omg I would LOVE to win one of these!!
Okay – First – I love the photos – all three of you together at last! And Binga playing king of the hill – Love, love love it. And Second – I want that book! I’m from NYC, I have cats, I deserve that book.
That looks like such a good book that Boodie and Binga were determined to help you.

Your cats are beautiful! I would love to win this book. When my son was small we used to go to a bookstore that had a cat. My son and I always enjoyed seeing him.
I visit New York often and would love to visit one of these cats.

This book looks pawsome!
Very cute photos Summer, even if Boodie and Binga got in the way! BJ frequently has to put up with other cats messing with his plans, too, he feels your pain! The photos in the book look amazing.
Absolutely love your helpers, Summer. The photos all cracked us up. We were asked to review this book, but then never received it. Better enter to win one. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
I think an office cat would make the work place a much nicer place.
When the humans in our house go to a certain floor, our kitten Sydney eventually comes to where we all are!
I think that Binga does the same thing, going to where Summer is, considering all of the photo bombing!
Boodie looks super cute in that first picture, where she’s looking down. That’s always a pretty angle for a female cat!
We’ve had our eye on that book. It looks fabulous. Tamar rocks!
Angel Normie, Angel Mika, Sasha & Grady Lewis
mom wants to get this one….she thinks EVERY shop needs a cat!!
It looks like the book has inspired your housemates to try working as models.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the photobombs even though they are frustrating to you, Summer. LOVE them. Seeing BInga walk across just at the crucial time always makes mom and I laugh and Boodie, what a treat!!! You are a gorgeous girl! I love that book. I hope hope hope mom and I can win it.
What a busy photo shoot. Maybe the cooler weather makes some kitties frisky, MOL. And what a great book, we gotta enter for mom. It looks pawsome! Thanks for reviewing it and the group effort photo shoot, loved it. Purrs
That sure looks like a great book and we would love to have that. I bet the pictures and stories are just great.
I’m not entering because I live in Canada, but I had to leave a comment to say how much I love the group effort! The book sounds amazing. I might have to put it on my Christmas wish list.
I made my lady sign us up
How pawsome! We insisted Mom enter this right away.
The pet store I used to get Carmine and Lita’s food from (before they had to go on a prescription diet) has a cat who lives there named Petunia. As far as I know, she is still there! 🙂
That book must be good given the high interest it is generating at your place 😉
