The Confessions of a Catnip Junkie by Allan GoldsteinThe Confessions of a Catnip Junkie
By Allan Goldstein

Have you ever read those news accounts of cats who disappeared from home for months, maybe years, only to return right back where they came from? Did you ever wonder what they were up to during all that time they were gone? Then you will want to read this novel because that is exactly the tale that unfolds before you: Doo Doo made the unfortunate mistake of escaping from his human’s Jeep after a trip to the vet and through fate, happenstance and the whims of a number of misguided humans (and cats), found himself on a wild trek that took him from San Francisco to New York and back again. During the year he was gone, a number of strangers thought he belonged to them — he even wound up with several different names: Rusty, Lucky, Fido — but Doo Doo knew that his one true family was the couple he so carelessly left in the first place. Oh, and let us not forget his occasional forays into the depths of his favorite foliage: catnip.

Because of his charm and good looks, Doo Doo is able to manipulate any number of humans to get his way, which is to get him on his way home. If it sounds like this guy is a special kind of kitty, he is. And before you start thinking that he is a work of fiction dreamt up by pro writer Goldstein, guess again: Doo Doo was a real, live kitty, and he and Goldstein were on intimate terms. Doo Doo’s story is full of excitement, emotion and felinity, a book you’ll be reluctant to put down. I give it four paws up!

We think that sounds like a good book but our mommy is stuck on the fact he got lost in the first place! That’s her worst nightmare and she has a panic attack just thinking about it. Glad there was a happy ending though!

it is amazing how cats find their way home. I had one disappear for 3 months and then just showed up.
Sparkle, your amazon button at the bottom of the post is not working. I tried to see how much the book cost.
    Take care.

I tested the link on two different browsers and it works for me. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch.

Sounds like what happened to a friend. Her cat had jumped into the van of the plumber and lots of km farer escaped where the pluber lived. They did everything possible to find the cat, without success and suddenly after 4 months the cat came into the kitchen door ! Amazing !
