Sunday Catinee: Le Chat Triste
I have a foreign film for you today. Don’t worry, there are subtitles! Narrated by the handsome Henri, it proves two things:
1) Tous nous des chats parlent français. (All of us cats speak French.)
2) Everything is more meaningful in black and white, and in French.

Henri’s first film is here, but for my kibble, the second one is the best. Henri also has a Facebook page, in case you would like to “like” him. Although he’s called “Henri le Chat Noir,” he is really Henri, le Chat Noir et Blanc.

That’s wonderful. I especially like the delivery of the narrator. It sounds so typical of French tragedy. You’d know what was going on even without the subtitles.

The Human’s cousin who is indifferent to les chats but who went to film school sended her these this week. I don’t understand why Henri is so triste–isn’t being a Chat the ultimate rung on the great ladder of being (or the strongest link in the chain or whatever stoopid Human metaphor that is)???
