Until I saw this 1894 film clip from the Edison Studios, I had no idea that cat boxing had such a long and… possibly sordid history!

As you might have noticed, this match was faked! The referee was holding the cats by their harnesses to control them. In fact, I bet those kitties were not happy to be boxing at all. Thankfully, cat boxing has come a long way in the past 118 years. Check out Snickers and Stewie — creative moves, all in good fun, and no human interference!

We loved the REAL boxing! The kitty (Cheso?) doing the punching bag practice was funny. The middle one reminded us of the movie swordfights where they fight up and down the stairs! And of course we liked Binga and Sparkle best…
