Kitty Fun

These are entertaining sites and articles that somehow involve cats, so if you want to goof off on the computer - and you've already read all my diary entries - here's where you can go.

Yoga Kitty
This Yoga guy tries to bring serenity to his cat, but I personally think he's nuts! My human swears up and down that it's not real, but I think she's just trying to placate me. I was amazed when I saw these videos, and you will be too. Just don't try these tricks on your cat.
Meow Mail
I especially like this site because it's not really for humans - it's for us cats. We can watch the Feline Interactive Broadcasting Network, play with digital cat toys, read The Morning Hairball and, best of all, Meow Mail offers us our own email! Of course, I have my own domain name so I already have email, but I know a lot of cats out there aren't so lucky. Meow Mail is the answer - and it's free!
Rate My Kitten
My human doesn't like to admit this, but when she first discovered this site, she spent very long periods of time rating pictures of kittens. Here's how it works - people upload pictures of their kitties and viewers rate them from one to ten. They also get to write comments about the photos. They have a "top 20" and "bottom 20" list (the bottom 20 is pretty funny). Rate enough kittens and you may find pictures of me, Boodie and Binga floating around there.
Cat Years
Ever wonder how old your cat is in cat years? Here's a web page that lists the human-cat year conversions. Enter the years and months since your cat's birth and it'll even calculate its age for you.
Dharma the Cat
This is one of my human's favorite sites, and one of mine, too. It's a cartoon series featuring a novice Buddhist, his cat and a mouse. The cat, of course, is way smarter than the little Buddhist guy. There's a small spiritual lesson that accompanies each comic. I think David Lourie, the guy that does these comics, must be part cat himself.
Website for Cats
This one's especially for cats that love chasing images on TV and computer screens. You click on your choice of six critters - three of them on Flash pages - and they flitter across your computer screen, driving your cat wild. At least that's the plan.
Cat's Back Alley
You'll find lots of great stuff on this site - cat photos, poetry, clipart, etc. - but the humor page is the absolute best. My human couldn't stop laughing at the cat haikus. Cat's Back Alley was obviously put together by someone who understands cats, and cat people.
I-Love-Cats.com
Like the About Cats site (in the Cat Care section), this site is a bit pop-up heavy, but there's lots of great stuff here, so it's worth it. There's a library of free cat clipart and graphics, games, a community, a big directory of cat sites and a whole lot more.
Catflexing: The Cat Lover's Guide to Weightlifting, Aerobics and Stretching
This is actually a review of the book, written by my human. Apparently the author uses her cat instead of weights when she works out. I am glad to say that my human has never mistaken me for a dumbbell. But then, she says I don't weigh enough - "Only a wimp would use you for a biceps curl!" Well, excuse me! Maybe she should use Boodie instead - she makes a good, hefty dumbbell, and she's about as intelligent as one, too.
Crazy Cat Ladies
Here's an organization of self-professed "crazy cat ladies" who have formed a community - they say they're determined to break the "crazy cat lady" stereotype, but as far as I can tell, they actually revel in their cat craziness, which is completely fine by me! They spend a lot of time hanging out in the About Cats Forum and chatting about, well, cat things! Oh, and if you're not a lady, there's also a men's auxiliary.
Cyber Kitty
Move your mouse and you can play with this virtual kitty. Its eyes even dilate the way mine do when my human waves my bat toy at me! Frankly, I think I'm more fun to play with, but if your cat's taking a nap or otherwise disinclined to frolicking, this is the next best thing. You can also email Cyber Kitty to your friends - and if you do, tell 'em you found out about it here!
What Kind of Cat Are You?
This fun quiz comes from the About Cats site. My human took it and she's a Bengal. Frankly, I think she makes a funny looking Bengal. I was disappointed to see you could be an Abyssinian but not a Somali. My human thinks I dwell too much on such things. There's a second test, too. My human's a Norwegian Forest Cat in that one. Still no Somali category. Darn.
My Cat Hates You
This is not a warm-fuzzy site. It's the dark side of cats, their humans, and the internet. Most of the cats you'll see are truly evil. I think Binga's picture should be here, but my human disagrees - "You're the only one she's got issues with!" Whatever. You'll certainly never see a picture of me here because I'm sweet and angelic.
Local Cat Is Hero
The story of a cat after my own heart. I hope to be of similar help to my family someday.
