A few weeks ago, the Wellness humans sent over some of their latest flavors for me and my roommates to try out. It took a while for us to get it together because of our quirky eating habits. I am picky and a slow eater, Binga is not picky and a food stealer, and Boodie is suspicious of anything given to her — and then she hoovers it. So finally, my human decided to have us try the food out one cat at a time, and then let us polish the cans off for our meal.

As you can see we had a variety of different food! There was no tuna because we actually don’t like tuna that much! It didn’t matter. There were lots of other flavors. So let’s check out Day One.

We were given Minced Turkey Entree, Minced Chicken Dinner and Cubed Salmon Dinner.
All these flavors, and the next day’s choices, are 100% grain-free, like many in the Wellness line of canned cat food. The main difference (other than the new flavors) is that they are “cuts,” instead of paté style. As you can see, I am checking out the aroma. That is an important part of a good, quality cat food, you know.

It did not take me long at all to gravitate to the Cubed Salmon Dinner. Yum!

Boodie could not believe that there were three different cat food flavors, just waiting to be eaten!

She too liked the salmon the best!

As did Binga!

You can see our unanimous vote here: the Cubed Salmon Dinner is almost half eaten, and the Minced Turkey Entree got a few bites. Don’t worry — we polished off everything for dinner. We had to, or my human said she would send the leftovers to the starving cats in the Alley.

Day Two consisted of the Sliced Salmon Entree, the Cubed Turkey & Salmon Entree, and the Sliced Chicken Entree. I tried out the chicken first — I liked it better than yesterday’s Minced Chicken Dinner.

The Cubed Turkey & Salmon Entree was pretty tasty too!

But once again, the salmon was the winner! Whether sliced or cubed, I thought it was the best!

Binga also went for the chicken first.

But she eventually made her way over to the salmon and stayed!

Like yesterday, Boodie hung back, unsure if she was really allowed to eat whatever she wanted.

But then she made a bee line to the salmon.

And here is the proof: for the second day in a row, the salmon wins, paws down!
We know every kitty is different, and you may prefer different flavors from what we like. But I can safely say that there is probably a new flavor of canned Wellness that you will probably go for!

What a cool taste test! We haven’t ever tried any salmon Num-Nums before…
Very scientifically done, kitties. Mom wonders if I would also like the Wellness Salmon. Usually I prefer non-salmon foods, for some reason. But your endorsement of the salmon TWICE is going to mean I need to reconsider.
Every kitty has different taste. And we eat freshly grilled salmon pretty regularly because my human’s boyfriend is a pescatarian (only eats fish, no poultry or meat), so we are used to salmon!
That looks like so much fun deciding which flavor you like the best. That is a great way to do it. We are not too fussy about the flavors. Although Salmon is not one of our favorites. But that Wellness food is great stuff. A good friend sent us some to us and we eat it right up. All of you have a really fun week end.
It’s interesting that you should mention this food today cuz our vet just mentioned it yesterday – Wellness – she thought it was a good cat food and suggested to mom that i give that one a try.
I don’t think we get that brand in Australia. I guess I’ll stick with my favourite Fancy Feast!
Mommy want to know where she can get ME some? I hate pate by the way and only want pieces/bits/cubes.
Salmon it is then… Good job of taste testing.
Yum!!
pawhugs, Max
Genji says he would love to try all those!!!!
Purrs,
The Chans
Thanks for doing that taste test. We know it had to be a real sacrifice!! Mom has to go to the store today to get our Wellnes dry and she’s going to pick up a few cans of the canned too!!
The Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
Thanks for the taste test. I have been wanting to try these, but mom didn’t know if I would like them or not, because I didn’t like the other flavors. But she says she has a coupon (whatever that is–maybe it makes her less cheap!) so she is going to pick some of the salmon for me too! I will probably have to share with Sophie, but she only likes the gravy, so that’s ok.
We loved this whole post!! Great review!
You did a great review of the different flavoured foods – so salmon was the winning taste.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Sparkle, we LOVE Wellness foods and we eat them all the time. We are SO excited about these new flavors and we can’t wait to try them…’specially that salmon one. Thanks for that great review!!
Hello Sparkle
This is Donkey’s food of choice! The only flavor she doesn’t care for is the tuna as well. She loves the dry food too!!!
Y’all sure did a thorough review. We get Wellness Stinky Goodness sometimes, the salmon and turkey grain free. We like it pretty well.
Great review gang, and wow, that was quite a nice variety to try out too!
Hmmm, going to get my human mom to get me a can or two. I’m very spoiled and fussy when it comes to eating. Only Fancy Feast for me.
I liked your taste tests and yes, There does seem to be something that’s not right in Boodlie’s head. I like both tuna and salmon and don’t like turkey at all. I like human chicken. Well done!
I like human chicken too. If I could, I would live on grilled salmon and roasted chicken! No cat food at all!
Great review! When we did our grain free experiment, Wellness was the only brand we would eat more than a few bites of, but even that we would barely eat half a can of. I wonder if we would like the cuts better than the pate?
Except for their Core chicken, I like the salmon flavors better than the pate. I also like a couple of their pouch flavors, but not the grain-free ones.
This is a plum assignment that you got Sparkle and it got all three of you to agree on something. Salmon is the bonding agent for your family.
You’ve convinced us! Tchai and Bee Gee were always big salmon eaters as well, especially the smoked variety. We adore the picture of Boodie on Day 2 giving the three flavours a proper stare-down!
Wow, that looks like very yummy food for cats. Of course I am a vegetarian goat.
We do like salmon, although chicken is also a big favorite around our house though oddly food that has salmon and chicken does not do so well!
OMC, a kitty buffet. Our fussy foster only eats Wellness dry and baby food.
We had our money on the salmon the whole time, but chicken is a favorite of mine, too! I enjoyed the taste test. I like how your human said if you don’t finish it the cats in the Alley would get it!
Have a good weekend, Sparkle!

That was a fun review Sparkle! We enjoyed your scientific study of which you three like best! We’ll have to get our mommy to get us some of those foods.
NOMS!
That sure looks good, and if we had smell-o-vision we would probably be jumping into the computer.

Sparkle you and your catmates do the coolest things! Thank you Sparkle, Boodie and Binga! I’m sending my human out for salmon.
I have never eating any diced or cubed foods. Our raw medallions are the texture of hamburger and the Weruva stuff is mainly chunks or shredded. It does look pretty delicious though!
That looks like it was a fun taste test! And how funny that all three of you gravitated toward the salmon. Scarlett and Melly’s favorite food is the Wellness chicken pate, but I bet they would like some of those new flavors – I’ll have to give them a try!
Great review! You and your roommates sure did an awesome job with that, Sparkle. We just might have to try that food out!
I tried the Wellness food last summer/fall when Praline wasn’t eating. She didn’t like any of them, but she always was finicky (and she was already sick). I understand this brand of food is excellent for the kitties.
Mom Paula
We love alot of gravy with nicely shredded meat too!!!
We will be lookin fer the new Wellness in the stores. We are suddenly not eating the EVO 95% Chicken. The idea of chunks sounds good.
we are going to be on the look out for a new food for Cody because Royal Canin is discontinuing their Rabbit food. (Cody has allergies)
He cannot have chicken, beef, wheat, corn or dairy.
Can you please tell me if the salmon has chicken broth or anything else that I mentioned? If it has chicken broth he still can’t eat it.
Right now I am probably going to order a different food that seems to be the only brand that has no chicken broth. This is becoming a total nightmare.
Sparkle thank you for checking into this!! You sure are on the ball and I am amazed at the time you have to reply since you are one busy kitty!!!
Duh!!! Going to the website WOULD be the answer, wouldn’t it? lol!!!! I know someone with fried brain cells and that someone would be ME!
Thank you! I do want to check this out!
We eat Wellness but I have not heard of these flavours.
