It didn’t take long for me to figure out the perfect Furminator contest! And you squeamish humans will be happy to know that it does not involve cats hacking up hairballs, or you guys having to take pictures of them! My apologies if any of you have already shot photos of your cats’ hairballs — maybe you can post them on your own blog or Facebook account so everyone you know can enjoy them.
My contest is a very simple one, although it did take some effort on my human’s part. It required her to Furminate Boodie. Your job is to guess how big the pile is!
This is the first time Boodie has been Furminated since the weather started warming up, so she made a pretty large pile of fur.
Here’s a close up of the fur. I’m not sure if this will help you or not.
But I do want you to know that I thoroughly examined the fur pile myself to make sure 1) it was all actual fur and 2) it was all Boodie’s fur and no one else’s. I wanted to make this contest 100% official.
Then my human brought out a tape measure. I checked that out too, to make sure there were no tricks afoot.
We decided to make it easy on you and just measure it from one end to the other. No circumference, no having to guess how high it is. Just guess the measurement of the fur pile from one end to the other.
Here are the contest rules:
- You must give your guess as a comment to this post. That’s so you can see if someone else has already guessed the number. If they have, you have to pick a different number. There will be no ties, and only one winner.
- You must guess a number in inches, or feet and inches. No centimeters, no “tail lengths” or “paw widths.” This is for consistency’s sake. You can use fractions of an inch.
- Only one guess per email account. That means if you guess again, it won’t count. We will only use your first guess.

17.75″ of fur and yes that’s almost a whole cat there!
So there was a cat under all that floof and furs. WOW! That is impressive that a cat can grow that much furs. Since we have no floofs no furs it will be a real guess for us. We thinks it’s about 24 inches. You can make another cat with that.
I’ll say 50cm.. I don’t know the old fashioned measurements.. *works it out on a calculator*.. erm… 19.5 inches I think.

If dat pile of fur was at my howse, there’d be a lot less of it cuz I EAT da furs! Mom can only groom me if she lets me nibble a little fur.
Ok, we’ll guess 16 1/2 inches.
Actually, 50cm works out to 19.6850 inches, so that’s the measurement we’ll count for The Night Flower.
17.5 inches I just want to know how many humans it took to hold Boodie down. The furminator works great but we really don’t enjoy the process. >^..^<
17.5 inches How many humans did it take to furminate that pile of fur?? Furminators do a good job, but we don’t enjoy the process. We both have about that much fur too.
@Abigail & Muffin Boodie kind of likes the Furminator, but she doesn’t like being held down, so my human spent about 20 minutes or so following her around the enclosed patio, Furminating her and putting the Furminated fur into the pile. It was quite a process!
That’s a lot of floof! We’re going to guess there is 23.5 inches of floof there!

Hmm…I’m guessing…22 inches, though I doubt I can get any closer with the furminator as opposed to other brushes (it becomes quite the extreme sport when one of my perdy cats gets really annoyed and attacks, quite mercilessly I might add, the hand holding the brush)

I would say…*scratches ear and ponders*….16.75 inches.
Based on very scientific observations and a lot of math, I’m going to go with 19 1/3″.

I’m not sure where you are measuring, but I’m going to guess it’s around 18-1/4 inches long. I’ve got my fingers crossed!!!
I’m not gonna make a guess cuz I already has a furminator that I hate. But, I jus’ wanna say that you have one big pile of kitty furs there. More than Mom has ever got off me, but then now when she tries to comb me I start wheezing and then she has to stop. (Good way to make her stop, I’ve learned.)

We LOVE our Furminator! When Mommy pulls it out, we all chase after her and fight to get the most attention with it. Sometimes she’ll just hold it out and we’ll Furminate ourselves, too!
And we’ll guess 25.5 inches, as long as we’re here.
