Lean in close and let me tell you about my latest fun thing: Pinterest! I bet a lot of you have heard of Pinterest, but not so many of you know what it is. Why do I say this? Because I have been on there for quite a while now and I think there is maybe one other kitty there. Everyone else is a human, and a very small percentage are brands. (One of them happens to be World’s Best Cat Litter.)
So you probably want to know exactly what this Pinterest thing is and why I like it so much. Basically, it’s like a big bulletin board or the front of a refrigerator covered with cool images of your favorite things — anything from faraway places to furniture to food. Your account consists of boards and usually you create one board for each topic. When you see something you like — a story on a website or a blog post or a fun video — you “pin” it, which means you add the link to your board and it is identified by a meaningful image from the article or post that you choose. Like with any other social media site, you can add friends (or you can just add certain boards of your friends), and when you go to Pinterest, you can see what everyone has been pinning to their boards. Usually there are a bunch of great images and links, and if you want to share them with other Pinterest friends, you can “repin” them to your own board.
But what is even better about Pinterest is that you can share your favorite images and links even with friends who are not on Pinterest by adding them to your blog, the same way you would add a YouTube video! So I am going to share some of my favorites with you today.
This one is sad — it is a poor kitty being tortured:
Here is a wild kitty:
This is what happens to every cat when it is born:
I also have a whole board devoted to things my human should buy me. Here are just a few samples, starting with this awesome space ship:
And this is one of my all-time favorite pins:
You need an invitation to join Pinterest right now, but they are easy to get — just ask me and I will send you one! And if you are already on, add me!
