So kitties, have you been enjoying all your Cat Appreciation Month gifts? You are supposed to be getting them every day in February, you know! I hope your humans have not been neglecting this important part of Cat Appreciation Month; otherwise they will have a lot of making up to do!
Fortunately for you humans, the daily Cat Appreciation Month gifts do not have to be big or expensive. They can be small trinkets like a twist tie or a pipe cleaner. If your cats do not yet have one of the requisite toys such as Da Bird, a Cat Dancer
or a Neko Fly,
or a tunnel.
But most importantly, for Cat Appreciation Month, all humans are expected to get one big ticket item for their cats. This counts especially for those humans who have been neglecting the other gifts this month! So now is the time to invest in that super-deluxe cat tree — the extra large size, or the one that looks like a real tree. Or that extra fancy cat bed or wall unit. Of course you can go all out and do what my human did a few years ago: surprise your cat by buying a whole new house! Mine actually did not buy ours during Cat Appreciation Month, which made it all the bigger of a surprise — we thought we were being stuffed into carriers and loaded into the car to go to the vet! Can you imagine how stoked we were when we found out we had gotten a house that was nearly twice the size of our old one, and much cooler, with spiral staircases and plank wood floors? I know that a new house is not within every human’s budget, but if you can work out a way to make it happen, imagine how enchanted your cat will be!

Sparkle don’t you look glam and Hollywood on your stairway heaven or ivory tower? We have our humans by the short furs and get prezzies regularly. Ten years ago we moved into a historic house and dream property for kitties with lots of wild land and mousies.

We are actually doing that – buying a new house – maybe not specifically for the kitties but we will be sure that there will be plenty of trees, birds and squirrels for them – none where we live now and we all miss them!
Our mum is hopeless. We got to keep the seal pull thingy off the top of the yoghurt tub after she dropped it, but that is all. Sigh.
Last week, I got to eat prawns for the first time. Every other time, the peeps have tried giving me prawns, I snubbed them. This time I finally tried them and LOVED them. Unfortunately, I won’t be getting a big gift since I just got a new cat tree for Christmas.
Cripes. All I got was a shave.

I haven’t recieved any appreciation gifts so far. (I know, having a loving home with food and warm beds to nap & sleep should be good enough but I need new toys and a tree house thing. I don’t think my human understands the meaning of cat appreciation yet.)
