Why am I looking into this Priority Mail Flat Rate box with such a serious expression? Because I am on serious business, of course! I have to pick out something for the White Elephant Gift Exchange Party being held by Margaret at the Nanny Goats in Panties blog! A bunch of us bloggers were matched up and we were instructed to send each other something, either a present we wanted to re-gift, or an old item that never got used. When I heard about this gift exchange party, I knew I had the perfect thing to send!
This incredibly lifelike “moving hand!” My human bought it some years ago and had planned to use it in a Halloween photo session with us cats, but it never happened. Mainly because she never got around to getting the “C” batteries it required. So it has been sitting around in a box for I-don’t-know-how-long. I do know we had it at our old house, and we moved nearly four and a half years ago.
Picking out the gift was the easy part. What took all my feline expertise, and some assistance from Boodie, was making sure the box was the right size and properly engineered to hold a lifelike moving hand. We were fortunate it fit in the flat rate box — there is never any guarantee that will happen. Note that my human finally went out and got C batteries. She even made a special trip to get them.
We both agreed that “all systems were go!” (By the way, go over to the Bissell contest and vote for Boodie! You can vote once every day!)
So off the package goes to the human who runs the Snarky Mama blog! Actually, I sent it off a few days ago because I did not want to ruin the surprise in case she came across this post before receiving the package! I was going to toss in one of my bookmarks… but then I saw she wrote a lot about books, so I threw in my books too! I figured that if she did not like cat books, she probably knew someone who did.
So who am I getting a White Elephant gift from? Boom Boom Larew, whose blog is called How to Become a Cat Lady… Without the Cats. I hope she realizes that when I open her gift, I will be judging just how much of a (catless) cat lady she really is! I will reveal my gift on Tuesday!
