The Paws for Japan drive has been amazing! As I write this post, World Vets has over $32,000 in their ChipIn widget, and we blogging pets, along with those who Tweet or are on Facebook, helped lots! Many of my friends took part in yesterday’s big push. I originally pledged a dollar for each comment on yesterday’s post, figuring that I would probably get three to four times the comments I normally do, which would add up to somewhere around $100 or so. And I looked like I was about on target, until the World Vets humans announced my pledge on their Facebook page. Well, they have over 33,000 fans and the comments were coming in faster than I was even approving them! I never dreamed that would happen. It was wild. So my human finally had to pull the plug on the comments and say she was donating $300 even. Yesterday turned out to be my biggest traffic day so far — I had nearly 3,000 page views!
So now it’s time for me to dig into my human’s purse so she can pay up!
I’ll just take these green papers out of her wallet.
Wait a minute! Those aren’t hundred dollar bills — they’re one dollar bills!
I think I’d better track down the plastic!

Woo!! Wonderful news. We weren’t able to comment – by the time we arrived, it was all closed! BTW, our Mom luffs Hello Kitty too. So far she’s acquired a keychain, necklace watch, stuff Halloween doll and an alarm clock.
We are just delighted. We have been reading that donations for Japan earthquake relief so far have been paltry compared to other disasters, but that is clearly not the case for the animals!
