This is going to be shorter than my usual Pet Me Cat show posts. Not because nothing happened, but because I was so busy! The humans for the southern California cat shows usually put me in a spot where the attendees see me right away. So I was surrounded by lots of people. I was constantly on, doing high fives, and letting lots of people pet me. Meanwhile, my human had to answer lots of questions about me, and about Somali cats and therapy cats in general.
I did get to try something new: a minnow! My breeder brought some as treats for my nephew, Louie, who was there competing. She let my human give me one and I went crazy for it!
I also got a new bed! My human felt I should have something comfortable in my visiting area, so she picked one up from one of the vendors at the show. I loved it immediately and spent lots of time sitting in it and making happy paws. I hope this bed becomes a regular thing at future cat shows. The funny thing about all the visiting and socializing I do at these shows — I hang out, give high fives and get petted, but when I am done, I get up and walk right back into my enclosure. But I actually have pretty good endurance. I was out a lot for this show, and ready to meet and greet.
My human ran out the door without her good camera, so she wasn’t able to get a lot of shots of crazy Louie. She missed capturing some of his wilder antics, like pulling down the black plastic backdrop behind the cages in one ring.
He got to play a lot with the judges, and some of them really enjoyed him. His last cat show with my breeder is next month. Then he goes to live with his new human. His new human is going to show him, so I may see him now and then, when we are at the same show.
I worked really hard at this cat show and I was really tired when we were done! But I had a great time. I even got some new Instagram followers!
