Gifts That Keep on Giving

There have been boxes sitting around the living room for months now. This would not be a big deal except that apparently we cats aren’t supposed to fool around with them. That is just wrong on so many levels, so I staged a protest.
Then my human had someone come by to help her organize her papers, which had been sitting around on her office floor almost as long as the boxes have been sitting in the living room. Seriously, the amount of ignored paperwork that was pulled from her office was appalling.
Binga was amazed by it too. But she put the paper to good use.

Binga has some weird paper issues. Like she’ll take a wad of paper and violently shred it. I hope she’s not pretending it is me.

In an attempt to control some of Binga’s excess energy, my human has been training her to jump through this green Styrofoam hoop. You won’t catch me doing something silly like that. I prefer to pose in it.
I’m getting more stuff in the mail. This package was a prize I won in a Twitter contest during an online party that was benefitting animal rescue.

I wasn’t sure what it was supposed to be. It didn’t seem like a cat toy at first.

Then I realized it was one of those things that makes the infamous Red Dot.

But I wasn’t the only one who got a gift in the mail this month. Boodie got her annual birthday card from PetSmart, with a coupon for a treat.Of course, the treat coupon wasn’t for very much, and the only thing in that price range was a weird mouse toy. On sale.

The other catch was you had to buy something else first. So my human got another present for Boodie. It was inspired by the amount of cat fur she leaves all over the rug.

At first I thought it was just another comb. But when I checked out the label, I found out that it wasn’t your average, everyday cat grooming tool.

My human took Boodie into the enclosed patio to try it out because she didn’t want to get any more fur all over the living room. I was not happy being left out, so she allowed me to come watch. But I soon realized that watching Boodie get groomed wasn’t really all that interesting.
Instead I spent my time examining all the dog’s things. I don’t like the dog, but she has a cool house and I love the way her food smells. Even though I’m not supposed to eat it I took a couple of bites.

I like being brushed so my human offered to try out the Furminator on me too. It felt good, but I didn’t think that she would get anywhere near as much fur off as me as she did Boodie. I was right.

The majority of our fur actually wound up on my human’s clothing. It made her so itchy that she had to undress the moment she was done with us. It was pretty amazing. For a moment, I thought there was another cat hiding in her pants.

Oh wow, that’s a lotta hair. How is it that Boodie had more fur than you? I’ll be sure to wear a painter’s smock or something like it, when I decide to “furminate” Livvy. I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit of a battle, replete with clouds of fur flying everywhere…
