Excuse my delay in announcing who has won a pawtographed copy of my book and the Bounce-n-Pounce cat toy, but I’m sure you understand why it was so important to post about Koko. The latest news is not that great — as of tonight (Wednesday night), I don’t know of anyone who has stepped up to save her, and she only has until the end of the week to find a home or rescue. I am hoping that when my human and I wake up tomorrow, things are different (in a good way!).
So onto the contest. My human weighed all us cats last week. It was not an easy task because every last one of us is really squirmy when she tries to put us on the scale. It doesn’t look it in the photos, but it is true. This does not bother my human all that much, though, because she gets squirmy when she has to stand on a scale too. Those of you who guessed high were probably thrown the most by me. I always say I’m a little cat, but I don’t think many of you know exactly how little. So I will show you my weight now.
That’s right, I am less than six pounds — 5 lbs., 15 oz. to be exact. I think the most I ever weighed was 6 lbs., 2 oz. My human keeps trying to get me to eat more, but the vets always assure her that I am just a small kitty.
Now onto a not-so-small kitty: Binga. Binga is nearly twice my size, and all muscle! She is a heavy, solid cat.
That said, Binga is actually a pretty good weight for a (legitimately) large-boned adult female kitty.
Now we get to Boodie. You are probably wondering what is under all that fluff.
It is actually quite hard to guess Boodie’s weight. For one thing, there is the fluff. For another thing, she has what is called a “cobby” body, which means she has a broad build. This also made it harder to weigh her because she was broader than the scale and did not want to be squished into the small scale area. My human managed to do it, though. The two finalists who had to guess her weight had a difficult task ahead of them! And their answers were very different: Charlotte (Brucesmom) guessed 15 lbs., 4 oz., and the Katnip Lounge family guessed 11.2 lbs.
My human was not able to get a photo of Boodie actually on the scale, but she did take a photo of what it said — here it is:
So Katnip Lounge wins! But Brucesmom came so close in our overall weight that I am sending her a small consolation prize. Both are going in the mail today!

Concats to Katnip Lounge. When you said you were tiny, we estimated you at 7lbs, so you really are very dainty.
Boy, was I off. I just went by my cats who are more than yours. My little “Chunky” is 13 lbs and I know my muscular mancat, Manny, is even more. You must be a very small kitty, Sparkle! Conngrats to Katnip Lounge! I’m sure they’ll love your book!

I am amazed that you cats go on a scale ! When I want to know the weight of my darlings I have to weigh myself, hold a one in my arm and then calculate the difference with and without cat, see the picture, lol ! My Rosie is also a mini cat, but as long as she eats well and is in good health it doesn’t matter. Had to laugh about your hissing cat who lives in the mirror !
Wow, we thawt Zippy was tiny at 6 pounds 2 oz….yoo is furry little. We bet yoo are da leader tho, Zippy rules our house even tho Sadie is almost twice her size and Speedy, well, he’s just huge and happy, he loves effuryone and is what dad calls a gentle giant.
