Remember my kitty workout? Well, it is just as important for humans to work out! They don’t have to be buff or anything, but functional fitness will help your human take better care of you. They will be able to carry heavy bags of cat litter and cat food, and they will have the energy to play with you longer! So I encourage my human’s exercise.
Of course, helping humans exercise is kind of difficult for a kitty. Since we don’t have thumbs, we can’t spot them when they lift weights. And besides, they tend to use weights that are as heavy as we are… sometimes even heavier!
And sometimes it’s safer to steer clear of humans when they are working with weights. Like this kettle bell, for example. My human flings it around and I’m worried that one day it is just going to go flying! And I don’t want to be in the room when that happens.
But I do like helping my human when she is doing exercises that only involve using her own body weight. Then I can be her exercise coach. Yesterday, I saw a Facebook video of a guy doing push ups and getting high fives from his dog between each one. (You can see the video here.) And of course, I figured if a dog can do it, so can I, and maybe even better! So I had my human hit the floor, and coached her. You can see in the video below.
