Warriors Super Edition: SkyClan’s Destiny
By Erin Hunter
Erin Hunter’s Super Edition books have been great supplements to the regular Warriors series, and SkyClan’s Destiny in particular has some very complex themes running underneath the plot. We met SkyClan previously in Firestar’s Quest, the Super Edition where the ThunderClan leader was compelled to locate the descendents of the ancient SkyClan cats and help them regroup. In SkyClan’s Destiny, these cats are thriving under Leafstar’s leadership, but the clan is disrupted when some felines from the city visit them and enlist their help. This brings to the surface a number of issues that have been brewing in the SkyClan hierarchy: the loyalty of the clan deputy Sharpclaw; whether it is appropriate to have kittypets from the neighborhood become part of the clan; and if there is any way Leafstar can juggle romance and leadership. There are a lot of layers here, and while the characters may not be quite as charismatic as the main cats in the regular Warrior series, some of them (Leafstar especially) are more three-dimensional. Even though it’s over 400 pages long, the story ends rather abruptly, which makes you wonder if we will be seeing more of SkyClan at some later date. That would certainly be welcome, as it seems a pity to leave these cats behind.

Great review of the book. We will have to save up our green papers to get that one. It sounds really good. Have a great day.
We haven’t got the book yet – we must get mum organised.
Interesting review! Thanks Sparkle!
We’ve never even SEEN that book before! Great review though…
Sparkle you are a marvel. Do you ever review books for goats?
Wow, that sounds interesting!
We haven’t seen that book before but will have to check it out, especially if it’s a new kitty series!
We have been thinking about reading the other Warriors books and perused your earlier reviews, Sparkle. Thanks for this one, too. We’ll have to put some of these books on our Christmas list.
