Through the Bookcase Glass
March, 2005

Look at what I found!

Okay, they're a little worse for wear, especially the pink one, but what did you expect? These things are meant to be used, you know.

Once again, it was that time of year for my human to do her dumb tax thing. She never did get that Quicken thing, like she said she was going to (she's nervous about the negative reviews on Amazon for both Quicken and QuickBooks Pro), so she had papers all over the place like always. Only this time, she had them all over the floor of her office instead of all over the bed like the last couple of years.

This was fine by us cats - after all, we like to play in her office. Binga commandeered the calculator.

Boodie looked under the papers for invisible hiding things. I've never seen a cat immerse herself in so many pointless activities. Sometimes I'm really embarrassed to admit that she's my friend.

The tax thing didn't last all that long this time around - my human is getting pretty good at this! I'm actually kind of bugged that she didn't leave the papers out longer so we could practice our flying and diving.

Then Easter came and my human's boyfriend brought her a chocolate bunny (which I never got to see) and a bouquet of spring flowers.

Binga thought the flowers were for her. She was quite flattered until my human set her straight and made her get off the desk.

After the initial novelty, I wasn't that interested in the flowers. My favorite pastime these days is sitting inside the glass bookcase. (My human hasn't put the books back in it, for some reason.)

Boodie was envious of all the fun I was having, so she decided she wanted in as soon as I came out. But as you can see, she hated being behind glass.
