Cat Books - From a Cat's Point of View

Mog's Christmas
By Judith Kerr

Apparently there is a whole series of little books featuring Mog the cat. In fact, she supposedly died in one volume the year before this book came out. So how did she manage to get revived for this adventure? I really don't understand. All I know is that this book is my first exposure to Mog and her humans. Mog seems like an awfully timid little thing - she is totally put off when the holidays come and the humans get busy preparing for Christmas. If she were a real cat, she'd be knocking around the ornaments and breaking them, climbing the tree instead of running away from it and jumping on the table and attacking the turkey at dinnertime. Instead everything seems to scare her. Luckily, Mog has a loving human family who is tolerant of her foibles. Warning: there's one really unpleasant part in the book, when Mog is subjected to... a bath! You cats may want to skip over that section. Too bad Mog doesn't know me - I'd show her how to really have fun during the holidays.
