Cat Books - From a Cat's Point of View

cat vs cat by pam johnson-bennett Cat Vs. Cat:
Keeping Peace When You Have More Than One Cat

By Pam Johnson-Bennett

Here it is in book form - proof that humans are stupid beyond words! Why else would they need someone to tell them really basic stuff like cat hierarchy and territory, how to set up a litter box and the right way to set out our food? No wonder so many multi-cat families have problems! What do humans expect us to do to get along - set up a government and draw up a set of laws? We've seen humans do that and it doesn't seem to work very well to us - we'll just hiss and scratch and duke it out instead, thank you very much. But if you're a human who is willing to admit you are totally clueless when it comes to your cats, you will find a wealth of information here on what to do when we're fighting, eliminating inappropriately or stressing out. Some humans think that Ms. Johnson-Bennett goes over the top at times, recommending that you people buy us loads and loads of toys, videos for us to watch, really fancy cat trees and gallons of Feliway, but personally I think that this is the least you can do for your cats. If you're not willing to go to the limit for your cats (hiss!), there's still lots of good, practical information that will probably create some sort of relative peace in your household. All I know is we don't need the practical stuff around here - we three cats know where we stand with each other and it suits us just fine. But we really could use more toys, videos, a much nicer cat tree than the one we have now. Oh yeah, and our human should change our litter boxes twice a day and give each one of us our own cat grass like the book says. Hmm, this Johnson-Bennett woman is pretty cool. Maybe she'd like a Somali?
